For the last few weeks Dylan has been saying he didn’t want to go back to school. Who can blame him, he spent the summer playing. However, he was up this morning, excited to get back to spending days in a classroom with his friends.

Yes, I need a camera which takes better pictures when you zoom. I’m kinda bummed most of the pictures didn’t come out better. However, I wasn’t in the front so…. Oh well, I’m sure he’ll have more graduation.

To be honest, I had never been to a parade before so, while I had an idea of what to expect, I was about as unprepared as one could be. I figured the Police & Fire Department would be there, of course a bunch of veterans, the Mayor & City Council…Boy & Girl Scouts…High School Bands and what-not. But it got really silly towards the end. I mean, rolling the Geek Squad van down the street in the parade? C’mon. Not sure how I felt about the dance troops or little leagues or even the Catholic Schools & church groups but they weren’t as bad as Best Buy’s overpriced “Techie’s for Hire.”

I had figured about half-an-hour…maybe an hour tops for it to go by. Nope, it took more than an hour-and-a-half!! Lesson learned, stay for the cars and then jet. Dylan got pretty bored by that time too.

Anyway, I enjoyed the cars…wish I’d taken more pictures of them.

Haven’t posted anything in a while so here’s the Pumpkin Patch, playing in the leaves and Trick or Treating.

Unplanned, we walked out the door to see the neighbor kid Dylan plays with and his cousin also dressed as Ironman with Spiderman candy buckets. What are the odds?

It was hot yesterday and Dylan needed to run around a little so why not run around in some water? Yeah, I got soaked too.

After grilling and eating some hot dogs and hamburgers, Dylan & I headed to the Fireworks at this park in downtown Mishawaka last night. We had a good time, even with a single cloud drifting over and dumping rain on us for a few minutes. Silly daddy didn’t think to bring an umbrella or anything like that so Dylan ended up under our chair while everyone else just got a little wet. I got a bunch of good photos of Dylan having fun. There’s also some video of him dancing and his commentary at the start of the fireworks.

The kid wants to be a fish. His school have been going for lessons each morning for the last couple weeks and this morning was an “open swim” so the kids can show their families what they’ve been learning. Dylan has no fear of the water. After I put the camera away, he even jumped in with just a kick board but lost it yet managed to get himself to the wall. He also swam around a bit with only one of those noodle things for flotation.

I wasn’t able to find out the schedule with Dylan until it was too late to really plan much so I took some cupcakes and cookies to Dylan’s class for a party there and we went to dinner at Chuck-E-Cheese. He loved it.
